Register NowCommunity schools thrive when leadership is shared.
In The Role of the Community School Principal, participants will explore how school leaders cultivate trusting relationships, co-create a shared vision, use actionable data, and build inclusive decision-making structures that support whole-child outcomes.
In The Role of the Community School Coordinator, participants will examine the unique leadership role CSCs play in advancing community school development. Through a focus on relationship-building, facilitation, strategic coordination, and capacity-building, participants will deepen their understanding of how CSCs help align people, partnerships, and systems to transform their schools into places where everyone thrives – students and adults alike.
Whether you are a principal, CSC, district leader, or community school practitioner, this series offers practical tools, reflective learning, and opportunities to connect with peers who are working to create more equitable, relationship-centered schools.
Attend one workshop or join us for both (it’s your choice!) to strengthen your understanding of the leadership practices that help community schools flourish. While each workshop is designed to stand on its own, the sessions are interconnected.
Community schools require a different kind of leadership–one that builds trust, shares power, and creates the conditions for students, families, educators, and community partners to thrive.
Learn MoreCommunity School Coordinators (CSCs) are often the connectors, facilitators, and relationship-builders who help turn a community school's vision into reality. In this workshop, participants will explore how CSCs build relationships, facilitate collaboration, coordinate partnerships, and help align people, resources, and systems in service of students and families.
Learn MoreCommunity School Leaders: Transformative Principals and CS Coordinators is designed specifically for principals, school leaders, and the school-site and LEA-level practitioners and teams who work with and support them.
Bring colleagues who work on the ground to lead your community school strategy at school sites. These can be Community School Coordinators, principals, teachers, and/or those at the district level that lead your community school initiatives.
Yes, you can attend one or both sessions. Each session is designed to stand on its own, so you’ll benefit even if you only join one. However, the content in both sessions builds each other, so we highly encourage you to register for both workshops to support your community schools development journey throughout the year.
For the Principal session, the regular price for each individual is $150. The early bird rate of 20% will end one month leading up to the workshop. For the Community School Coordinator session, the regular price for each individual is $345. The early bird rate of 20% will end one month leading up to the workshop. Individuals can also choose to buy both sessions for a reduced price of $370 total for the package (a 25% discount!). Those coming with their teams should pay a registration fee for each person who is attending.
We have intentionally designed this session to allow ample time to process content individually, in small groups, and in a whole-group setting, but we knew we couldn’t do that in a couple of hours. But not to worry – you’ll be getting a one-hour break after the first two hours of the workshop to regroup, process, and simply take care of yourselves. The time will fly by!
If you’d like a large team of more than 10 people to go through this training together, contact us at love@cslx.org so we can help you determine what type of opportunity might be the most impactful for your team.
The workshop presentation and group community share-outs will be recorded and shared with workshop registrants after the workshop. Breakout group discussions held during each workshop will not be recorded. Recordings will be shared 3 business days after the workshop and will be available for 30 days.
Registered participants will receive the materials and resources we cover through a page only accessible by registered participants.
Yes! This workshop is designed for principals and CSCs at all stages in their principalships and at different stages of community school development, along with the people who support them.
No. This is a participatory, introductory session that is designed to give you the tools, strategies, and resources to strengthen your understanding of the role of the CS principal or the CSC and what it takes to be effective in these positions. During the workshop, there will be opportunities to share out about your individual contexts during small group breakouts, but no individualized support. If you’d like more personalized support, we’d love to support you. Send us a note.

A community school principal reflects both the skill and will to lead their school communities in ways that are, at times, counter to how a principal is expected to lead. They need the curiosity, patience and humility, as well as the knowledge to lead improvement efforts and school transformation.
So you’re ready to onboard your Community School Coordinator! Now what?
Transformative relationships are formed when we share pieces of our humanity with others, and thus, invite them to do the same.
