October 30, 2025 - April 30, 2026|Virtual Workshop
REGISTER NOWAt CSLX, we always say that community schools work is developmental work–but what does that really mean? It means that the work takes root, shifts and grows over time, but only with the right conditions, people, and mindsets in place. The Community Schools Implementation Series is a three-session arc aimed at providing both new and more experienced community school practitioners with a foundational understanding of how community school development is, at its heart, transformative work.
This workshop series will help CS practitioners at all levels of experience hone their implementation skills, building their capacities to grow and support teams, engage interest holders in different aspects of community school work, and put community school theory into practical action.
Note: Each session in this series will be highly interactive. Participants will be asked to come to each workshop ready to engage with each other, and ready to learn. Since each session builds off of the previous session, we encourage people to register for all three workshops in the series.
Kick off Session One with a grounding in the community school strategy–then learn how to turn it into lasting change for students, families, and other interest holders.
Session Two will ground you in the CS Essentials and the enabling conditions that make the work thrive, while giving you practical tools to apply them right away.
In Session Three, we’ll focus on owning your community school work, telling your story, and planning ahead. You’ll practice self-assessment with key practices, use APR-aligned data to share impact, and build a roadmap for 2026–27–all while celebrating growth with your peers.
The Community School Implementation Series is designed for community school practitioners at the Maturing and Transforming stages of their development. Among other topics, participants will talk through the outcomes of community school development, how to measure those outcomes, and how to sustain and grow the work over time.
Bring colleagues who work on the ground to lead your community school strategy at school sites. These can be community school coordinators, principals, teachers, and/or those at the district-level that lead your community school initiatives. So we can ensure a meaningful and engaging virtual experience for all our participants, we humbly ask Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to limit attendance from their LEA to 10 people.
We have intentionally designed each session to allow ample time to process content individually, in small groups, and in a whole-group setting, and we knew we couldn’t do each topic justice in just two hours. But not to worry – you’ll be getting a one-hour break after the first two hours of the workshop to regroup, process, and simply take care of yourselves! The time will fly by!
As a part of their learning, participants will talk through the outcomes of community school development, how to measure those outcomes, and how to sustain and grow the work over time. Along the way, you’ll have an opportunity to build community with like-minded peers, process and reflect on new ideas, practice new skills and strategies, and actively bring what you’ve learned to your teams, sites and districts.
While we will provide multiple avenues to address common questions from the group, we understand that participants may not always get their specific questions answered, especially those questions that are very specific to their contexts. After each session, the facilitators will stay on for another 30 minutes to try to address some of your questions. This is completely optional. We invite you to bring any outstanding burning questions, reflect on the discussion together, or connect further with colleagues and facilitators.
The fee for each individual is $375 per session. Individuals can also choose to buy a package of all three sessions for a reduced rate of $995. Those coming with their teams should pay a registration fee for each person who is attending.

Community schools only become “the way we do school” when we strengthen and align our systems to hold the work together.
When practitioners think about community school sustainability planning, especially as CCSPP grants continue to “age,” the first question they often ask is, “how are we going to replace this funding?” But sustainability planning shouldn’t revolve around dollar for dollar replacements.
From a community school development perspective, spring is the time to take stock of what you and your team have accomplished this year, and review your implementation plan to see what’s on deck. Here are our four top ways to make the most of the season.
