Student and community engagement are at the heart of the community schools strategy, which transforms a school into a place where educators, local community members, families and students work together to strengthen conditions for learning and development. The Community School Transformation workshop will provide an opportunity to explore Community Schools Forward resources, including a framework identifying the essential elements of transformational community schools, a theory of action and accompanying outcomes guide, and an Excel-based tool that helps to plan for costs of implementation and budgeting. District administrators from geographically diverse parts of the state will also share their experience implementing these resources in their local context.
