CS Fundamentals Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The CS Fundamentals Workshop is for district, school, COE, and community partner teams who have received California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) planning or implementation grants, OR are interested in applying for state/federal grants to support their community school strategies.

You can see pricing information below!

But first, please note that the CS Fundamentals Workshop is designed specifically for teams. Why? Community schools work is about relationships. Specifically, strengthening relationships to develop a shared understanding and collective vision for what it takes to advance equitable student success. Doing it well means regularly making space for level-setting as a team, so you can be relevant to the priorities and lived realities of your students, families, schools, and communities.

These workshops also offer a chance for you and your team to make connections to other community school teams and leaders across CA schools and districts to learn how they are doing that meaning-making within their own communities.

To make it more cost-effective to attend, we’re offering discounted rates for groups that register as teams of four people or more.

  • Individual fee: $300 per person

  • Teams of 1-3 people: $300 per person

  • Teams of 4-8 people: $280 per person

  • Teams of 9+ people: $260 per person

We’re so glad you asked. Think about bringing:

  • Your superintendent or cabinet level person (with decision-making authority);

  • The folx you worked with to submit your grant application;

  • Staff that will be impacted by the priority areas you identified in your proposal. For example, your MTSS Coordinator, Associate Sup of Student Services, Linked Learning Coordinator, Associate Sup of Instruction.

  • If you have one, your Community Schools Coordinator/Resource Manager (and if you don’t have one yet, please don’t worry! You are not behind).

  • If specific schools are already identified as potential implementation sites, bring the leaders and/or leadership team from those sites (principal, AP, grade-level chairs, family liaison, etc.).

The discounted registration fee for teams of four people or more is only applicable if you register for your full team and pay the group's fee at the time of your registration. Coordinate with your team to designate a someone who can be the Registration Manager, and register the group together to receive the lowest possible rate for attendance.
